Vietnam has already taken delivery of more than half of the 300,000 tons of sugar imports it requires this year during the January-July period, the official said.

He added that the country is likely to import around the same amount of the sweetener next year.

Current sugar price levels justified - raw sugar stocks needed now to safeguard against brazilian logistical problems next year.
