The effect of dry weather on sugarcane in Brazil and its impact on the next movement market - a quick analysis.

Sugarflows have just created two scenarios comparing the effect on world market sugar prices and trade flows of a 2 million metric tonne change in expected Brazilian production for year 2011/2012.

The quick result is that basis Oct raws No.11 2011, with the lower production (unchanged from this year) figure the level could move as high as c/lb 28.6,

whereas at the higher production level the price is only likely to move to around c/lb 21.15.

(There are of course many other variables taken into account but for this exercise we have only changed the Brazil input)
